Basata Ordered To Pay For Musician Treatment In Tanzania

The Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports in Tanzania, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa has instructed the Arts Council of Tanzania – BASATA in collaboration with the Tanzania Music and Dance Association – CHAMUDATA to send the country’s longest-serving musician Mzee Hussein Abdallah Stima to hospital.

The 85-year-old has been suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure since last year.

Minister Bashungwa issued the order today after visiting Mzee Hussein at his home in Buguruni kwa Mnyama area in Dar es Salaam.

Elder Hussein Abdallah Stima thanked the minister and the government for the support and advised current musicians to sing songs to inspire the public about development and patriotism.

The old man is best known for his ability to play the Saxophone instrument on several bands such as the Cuban Marimba.
