Covid-19 Transmission Rate Has Dropped To One Percent In The Country

The country has recorded 44 more cases of COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 252,672.

Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe, in a statement confirmed that the cases were based on 4,238 samples tested with an infection rate of one percent.
Nyamira County leads with 11 cases, followed by Nairobi with 9 cases, Isiolo and Nakuru counties have 6 cases each and Uasin Gishu County has 3 cases.
According to the report, 496 patients are currently being treated in various hospitals across the country, while 1,365 patients are under home care.
Twenty-seven patients were admitted to the intensive care unit ICU, 12 of them using respiratory aids and 15 receiving extra Oxygen.
247 patients have recovered from the disease, 200 of whom were under house care and 47 were allowed to leave hospitals across the country.
However, two more patients have died from the disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,257.
