The High Court Rejects Kinoti's Request to Have His Four-month Sentence Suspended

Attorney-General Kihara Kariuki made the request.

While issuing the judgement, Justice Antony Mrima said that the orders he issued on November 18 should be followed because there is no fresh or compelling evidence to accept the application.

Kinoti, on the other hand, was sentenced to four months in prison for contempt of court in the Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.

The High Court in Nairobi gave him 30 days in early 2021 to surrender businessman Jimmy Wanjigi’s guns, as ordered in 2019.

The DCI has until March 25, 2021, to comply with the directives.
