Plans to develop Kisumu as an important port city in the East African region have begun, following the publication of Kisumu Lakefront Development Limited in the official gazette, as the company is expected to lead such activities.
The company is listed as a registered company, with shares from several public and private organizations, and was published in the newspaper by Kisumu County Governor Prof.
Anyang Nyong’o, as an important company to manage development projects in the area, in the next phase of development.
It includes the Kisumu County government, the country’s port council, Kenya Railway Corporation (KR), Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), wildlife service organization-KWS, Lake Basin Development Authority and Nyanza club.
Under former chief auditor Edward Ouko, the agency has identified key projects to be implemented to improve the city’s reputation.
